Iosef Stalin tank

The Iosef Stalin tank, named after Joseph Stalin, was a tank developed by the Soviet Union during World War II. Production started in 1942 and was increased in 1943 due to the performance of the German Panther[?] and Tiger tanks at Kursk. The IS-2 was the first production version and was equipped with a 122mm gun. In 1944 the design was upgraded to the IS-3 which had improved armor and a semicircular cast turret.

The IS-3 remained in the Red Army until the late 1960s and even later in the armies of China and North Korea
